SERVE TOGETHER
A table is more than just a place to eat. It is a place for conversation, for closeness, for little moments that hold everyday life together. That is precisely why sharing belongs at the table for us, from the first spoonful to the big family celebration. And this is exactly where our collaboration with Plateless South Africa begins.
Plateless is an independent, locally run soup kitchen in Pfefferville, East London. Every day, they prepare meals for children in need who would otherwise have to go to school without breakfast or lunch. Plateless not only provides full plates, but also a safe place: everyday structure, warmth, support and a sense of community. It quickly became clear to us that if we were to start a label, we wanted to use it to make a difference for those who don't have the same opportunities as we do.
For every item we sell, CHF 1 goes to the Plateless soup kitchen. That covers a hot meal for one child – not sometime in the future, but right now, where it is needed. And because Plateless is locally based, every franc goes exactly where it is needed.
When setting up our studio, we talked again and again about how much of a privilege it is to have a full table and how much food brings people together. At the same time, we found Larissa and Angel, who started Plateless. And it was immediately clear: this is a perfect fit.

Plateless South Africa began in Angel's family garden in Pfefferville, East London: a small pot and an idea — to provide children who are hungry with a warm meal. This private initiative soon became a community action, supported by the neighbourhood and driven by the goal that no child should go to school hungry.
Over time, Plateless grew from the garden into a real soup kitchen: volunteers and local helpers now regularly prepare meals, which are financed through donations and commitment. Every meal counts, every plate is a contribution. And our cooperation means that with each of our properties, CHF 1 goes towards this work, providing a meal for a child.
In 2025, Plateless was able to acquire its own property in Pfeffervielle and build a permanent infrastructure for food distribution there, a significant step away from improvised kitchen facilities towards a reliable drop-in centre. Hot meals are currently cooked there three times a week, and on the remaining days of the week, sandwiches are distributed to the children in the morning so that they do not have to go to school on an empty stomach. Currently, around 400 children in need, often living in difficult conditions, come to the soup kitchen.
